The Duality of Freedom

We all have freedom; it doesn’t take much scrutiny to see there is no inherent meaning in life.

You can do anything you want!

You can choose literally anything… but what if you choose the wrong thing?

Freedom is an ideal I value, but as I find myself with more freedom the duality identified above becomes more debilitating. This duality induced nihilism, disconnection, and neuroticism in me which is tough to work through. It's temporary with genuine long-term upside in terms of freedom, so worth it to me.

Freedom is liberating for the soul, but it’s duality is no joke.
